Men phoning number shown in Amala Paul's 'Aadai' teaser called out in hilarious prank

Even as the teaser on YouTube has many crass comments, several men have been incessantly calling the ‘Amma’ phone number that flashes on it briefly.

Amala Paul’s Aadai teaser has clocked over 6 million views on YouTube in just a week and has many movie-goers eagerly anticipating its release. The 1.36 minute teaser is a gripping edit and already has fans lauding Amala’s role in it.

When an address or a phone number flashes on the big screen, curiosity has led many fans to call or drop in but in Aadai’ s case this curiosity has turned into harassment.

Even while the YouTube teaser has many crass comments below its video’s link because Amala appears in a shot where she seems to be in the nude, many more have been incessantly calling the ‘Amma’ phone number that flashes in the video briefly. Sarithran, a Big FM RJ, decided to give these harassers a taste of their own medicine on his radio show Sarithiranin Narithanam .
A video on his Facebook page has a compilation of prank calls he pulled on these harassers, with most of them pleading to be let off the hook. The harassers were not just from Tamil Nadu but also Telugu and Malayalam speaking audiences.

“Please don’t make this public, if my family gets to know it’ll be come a problem,” says one caller while the other pins the blame on his 4-year-old kids, pretending to have not heard of Aadai at all. “My children were watching rhymes on YouTube. I don’t know who made the call,” he says when asked why he called the number.

When confronted with a police complaint, all the harassers either apologised profusely, the shame in their voice evident, or cut the call and switched off their phones. When asked why he had called during odd hours, one caller, a junior advocate said, “I wanted to ask for Amala Paul’s number,” before apologising once again and cutting the call abruptly.
Aadai, written and directed by Rathna Kumar, is expected to release in July this year. The film’s cinematography is handled by Vijay Karthik Kannan. The film’s music is composed by singer Pradeep Kumar’s band Oorga. The film has been produced by Viji Subramanian.

Amala Paul, who is quite excited about Aadai, had said in an interview that Aadai is not a “regular script” and that the intricacies of her character Kaamini were already giving her jitters.
